Zoning Hearing – July 9, 2019

The Zoning Hearing Board of Straban Township will hold a public hearing to conduct two (2) zoning hearings on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, commencing at 7:00 p.m. at the Straban Township Municipal Building, 1745 Granite Station Road, Gettysburg, PA, to consider the following applications:
1. A Zoning Hearing Application dated May 20, 2019 and filed on that date by Swift Run Foursquare Church and the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, relative to adjoining real properties located at 225 New Chester Road, New Oxford, Pennsylvania, in Straban Township and identified as Adams County Tax Parcel ID No. 38I11-0065—000 and Adams County Tax Parcel ID No. 38I11-0064—000. The adjacent real properties, which are the subject of the Zoning Hearing Application, are both zoned and located within a Rural Residential District (R-R) as established pursuant to the Straban Township Zoning Ordinance. The Applicants are requesting the grant of a special exception pursuant to section 140-26.B. of the Zoning Ordinance for the extension of a nonconforming use onto an adjacent real property, also owned by the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, for the purpose of expansion of the paved parking area serving the existing place of worship use being made at the real property at 225 New Chester Road. The Applicants are also requesting variance relief from section 140-26.B.(1) of the Zoning Ordinance which requires that such extensions shall be limited to the lot containing the use at the time the use became nonconforming.

2. An Application for Special Event Permit, dated May 1, 2019 and filed on May 31, 2019 by Gateway Gettysburg/Wyndham Gettysburg and the Gettysburg Wine & Music Festival, relative to real property owned by Gateway Gettysburg Land, LP and Gateway Gettysburg Hotel/Conference Center Partners, LP, which is located at 95 Presidential Circle, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, in Straban Township and identified as Adams County Tax Parcel ID No. 38G12-0158—000 and Tax Parcel ID No. 38G12-0158A—000. The real properties, which are the subject of the Application for Special Event Permit, are zoned and located within an Economic Development – Commercial District (EC-1) as established by the Zoning Ordinance. The Applicants request the issuance of a special event permit in order to hold a special event at the Gateway Gettysburg Complex pursuant to section 140-43 of the Zoning Ordinance which authorizes special event uses by special exception in every zoning district within Straban Township. The special event being proposed by the Applicants is the 2019 Gettysburg Wine & Music Festival to be held on September 7th and September 8th, 2019.
